For subjects with practical exams, students need to obtain at least 20 marks out of 50 in theory and 15 marks out of 50 in practicals separately.

Subject-wise Qualifying Criteria

  • Theory Papers: Minimum 35% marks in each theory paper.
  • Practical Exams: Minimum 35% marks in each practical exam.
  • Overall: Aggregate of 35% across all subjects is required for promotion.

Important Points for Students

Students who fail to secure the minimum qualifying marks in any subject will be eligible for supplementary examinations. The board will conduct these exams in July 2026. Additionally, students with backlogs can appear for compartment exams to improve their scores.

It is essential for students to understand that the qualifying marks are uniform across all districts and schools affiliated with the Maharashtra Board. No relaxation in passing marks is provided except for students with disabilities as per government norms.

Previous Year Comparison

In comparison to the previous academic year, the passing marks remain unchanged at 35%. However, the board has introduced a new grading system for practical exams from 2026 onwards, which will be reflected in the final mark sheets.

For further details, students are advised to contact their respective school authorities or the MSBSHSE helpline numbers provided on the official website.
