Kolkata Police Helpline for WBBSE Class 10 Exams 2026

In a significant move to support students during the crucial examination period, Kolkata Police has rolled out comprehensive assistance measures for the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) Class 10 board exams, commonly known as Madhyamik examinations. The exams commenced on February 2, 2026, and are scheduled to conclude on February 12, with an estimated 9.85 lakh students participating across the state.

Dedicated Helpline for Immediate Assistance

A senior police officer announced on Sunday that a special helpline has been activated at 9432610039 to ensure students face no inconvenience. "Upon receiving a call, police personnel and officers will promptly arrive at the location to assist," the officer stated. This initiative aims to provide real-time support for any issues students might encounter while traveling to their examination centers.

Traffic Management and Priority Measures

To facilitate smooth movement during exam hours, Kolkata Police has implemented several traffic regulations:

  • A complete ban on the movement of goods-carrying vehicles throughout the city from 6 am to noon.
  • Traffic guards have been instructed to prioritize the movement of examinees and act swiftly in case of congestion or delays.
  • Police stations and traffic officers are on high alert throughout the examination period to ensure seamless coordination.

Comprehensive Support for Students

The police have outlined additional support mechanisms to assist students in various scenarios:

  1. Escort Services: Officers are directed to escort students to examination centers if they are running late.
  2. Admit Card Assistance: Help will be provided to students who may have forgotten their admit cards.
  3. Medical Emergency Response: Ambulances have been stationed at key intersections to ensure quick response times. "If any examinee falls ill, we will make immediate arrangements to transport the student to the nearest hospital," the officer added.

Collaboration with Transportation Services

In a collaborative effort, taxi and app-based cab operators have committed to cooperating during the exam period. Representatives from transportation unions have assured that rides booked by Madhyamik candidates will not be canceled if passengers identify themselves as examinees and request assistance in reaching their exam centers. This measure aims to reduce last-minute travel hassles for students.

The proactive steps taken by Kolkata Police reflect a strong commitment to ensuring that students can focus on their exams without worrying about logistical challenges. With these arrangements in place, authorities hope to create a conducive environment for all examinees appearing for the WBBSE Class 10 board exams in 2026.
