HP Board Class 12 Results: Anshit Kumar Tops with 99.2%

The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board declared the Class XII examination results on Monday in Dharamshala. Anshit Kumar from Government Senior Secondary School, Bhawarna, in Kangra district emerged as the overall topper with an impressive 99.2% marks, scoring 496 out of 500.

Top Performers

The second position was shared by two students: Shayla Kashyap from New Era School of Sciences, Chhatri, Kangra, and Arushi from Government Senior Secondary School, Dharyar, Sirmaur. Both secured 99% marks. Shamya Barjatya from Government Model Senior Secondary School, Dari, Dharamshala, secured the third position with 494 marks (98.8%).

Girls Dominate Merit List

In the overall merit list, girls outperformed boys significantly. Out of 76 students who made it to the merit list, 60 were girls. Among them, 42 students from government schools included 33 girls, while 34 students from private schools comprised 27 girls and 7 boys.

Stream-Wise Toppers

Science Stream

Shayla Kashyap from Kangra topped with 495 marks (99%). Sanchita Dhiman from Una and Kashi Sharma from Hamirpur shared the second position with 493 marks each (98.6%). Tamanna Sharma from Solan, Nitin Kumar from Kangra, and Vaishali Thakur from Una shared the third position with 492 marks each.

Commerce Stream

The first position was shared by Yashsvani Chauhan and Krishika from Una, and Ayan from Kangra, each scoring 491 marks (98.2%). Anjali and Muskan from Kangra and Jahanvi from Solan shared the second position with 489 marks each (97.8%). Akshima Pathania and Ridhima from Kangra, and Muskan Thakur from Una scored 488 marks each (97.6%) to share the third spot.

Arts Stream

Overall topper Anshit Kumar also led the Arts stream with 496 marks, followed by Arushi from Sirmaur with 495 marks and Shamya Barjatya from Kangra with 494 marks.

Pass Percentage

The overall pass percentage this year was 92.02%. A total of 81,109 students appeared in the examinations held in March, out of which 74,637 passed. Additionally, 3,071 students were placed in the compartment category, while 3,352 failed. Board chairman Rajesh Sharma noted that this year's pass percentage was better than the previous three years: 79.6% in 2023, 74.5% in 2024, and 83.16% in 2025.
