Guntas Kaur Sandhu of DPS Sector 40 achieved an impressive 93.2% in her CBSE Class X exams while maintaining her status as India's number one amateur golfer for 2025. Her commitment was vividly displayed when she appeared for her Mathematics examination merely thirty minutes after arriving from an international golf tournament in New Zealand, where she had delivered a strong performance.
Having initiated her golf journey at the tender age of seven, Guntas made history as the youngest Indian to qualify for the cut at the Women's Amateur Asia Pacific championship in 2025. Inspired by her maternal uncle, she intends to continue her progression in professional golf while pursuing humanities in her academic studies. Her father, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, is engaged in agriculture and business ventures, while her mother, Gurinder Kaur, manages their household.
Reedhika Dheer: Tennis Star with 96.6% Achievement
Reedhika Dheer from Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, secured an outstanding 96.6% in her CBSE Class X results. As a dedicated lawn tennis player who trains for approximately three hours daily, she has accumulated significant accolades, including a gold medal in the Inter-School State Tournament (U-14) during 2023–24 and a silver medal in the U-17 category the subsequent year.
The UT Chandigarh Education Department has recognized her talents with sports scholarships for both 2025 and 2026. Reedhika represented Chandigarh at the 68th National School Games held in Ajmer. Beyond her athletic and academic pursuits, she has demonstrated a profound commitment to environmental conservation by planting over one hundred saplings outside her school premises.
Inspired by her elder sister Dhruvika Dheer, who is a high achiever and NCC best cadet, Reedhika plans to pursue humanities while viewing sports as an essential component of her life. Her father, Rohit Dheer, practices as an advocate at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, and her mother, Deeksha Dheer, is a homemaker.
Pankaj Ahuja: Chess Champion Scoring 97.4%
Pankaj Ahuja from St. John's High School emerged as another exemplary student, achieving 97.4% in his CBSE Class X examinations. As a national-level chess player with a FIDE rating of 1535, he has received the UT Sports Department scholarship for three consecutive years.
