CBSE Class 10 and 12 Results 2026: Anticipated Release and Access Methods

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is poised to announce the Class 10 and 12 results for the 2026 academic session in the near future. With the evaluation process nearing completion, students across India are eagerly awaiting their scores. Although an official confirmation on the exact date and time is pending, reports suggest a potential release window between April 15 and April 20, 2026. This early timeline is attributed to the implementation of a two-phase examination system, which has streamlined the assessment process.

Digital Platforms for Result Access

Once declared, students will have multiple avenues to check and download their marksheets. The primary methods include:

  • Official Websites: Visit results.cbse.nic.in or cbse.gov.in, and enter details such as roll number, school number, admit card ID, date of birth, and security PIN to view subject-wise marks and overall performance.
  • DigiLocker: Students with linked APAAR IDs will find their documents automatically available under the ‘Issued Documents’ section. Those without APAAR IDs can create accounts using school-issued access codes and verify their mobile numbers to download digital marksheets and certificates.
  • UMANG App: Log in with a mobile number, search for CBSE services, select the class, and input credentials to access the scorecard.
  • SMS and IVRS: Send a message with roll number, date of birth, school number, and centre number to a designated number, or call 24300699 (Delhi) or 011-24300699 (other regions) for voice-based results.

Evaluation Process and Historical Trends

The CBSE Class 10 examinations were conducted across over 8,000 centres nationwide from February 17 to March 11, 2026. District-level officials report that answer sheet assessment is complete, facilitating a faster turnaround compared to previous years. Historically, CBSE has released results in the afternoon, with past declarations at 1:10 PM in 2025 and 2024, 1:30 PM in 2023, 2:00 PM in 2022, and 12:00 PM in 2021. While Class 10 results are expected soon, Class 12 evaluation is still ongoing, which may delay its announcement, though both are typically declared on the same day.

Passing Criteria and Post-Result Options

To pass the CBSE Class 10 examinations, students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject. Grace marks may be awarded in cases where candidates fall short by one or two marks, based on board policies. After result declaration, students dissatisfied with their scores can apply for verification or re-evaluation. Those who fail to meet the passing criteria in one or two subjects will be eligible for supplementary examinations, scheduled around July 2026. The board has warned against unauthorised charges during administrative processes, emphasizing that only prescribed fees should be collected by schools.

Performance Insights and Statistics

In 2025, the overall pass percentage for Class 10 was 93.66%, with girls outperforming boys at 95% versus 92.63%. Approximately 8.43% of students scored above 90%, and 1.92% crossed the 95% mark. About 5.96% were placed in the compartment category. In 2024, over 2.23 million candidates participated, with more than 2.09 million passing, reflecting steady academic outcomes. Students are advised to keep their credentials ready to avoid delays during high website traffic and to download digital marksheets for immediate use.
