The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dismissed reports of glitches in the evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets, stating that 'everything is fine' with the new Online Sheet Management (OSM) model. The board introduced the OSM system for the first time this year for the Class 12 board exams, replacing the traditional manual evaluation process.
CBSE Clarifies on Evaluation Process
In a statement, CBSE officials clarified that there have been no technical or procedural issues in the evaluation of answer papers. The OSM model is designed to streamline the assessment process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. The board urged stakeholders not to pay heed to unverified reports and assured that the evaluation is progressing smoothly.
What is the OSM Model?
The OSM model involves digitizing answer sheets and distributing them online to evaluators. This system is intended to reduce errors, speed up result declaration, and enhance transparency. Unlike the traditional method where physical answer sheets are checked manually, the OSM model allows for remote evaluation and real-time monitoring.
CBSE has implemented robust security measures to prevent any malpractices or glitches. The board emphasized that the new system has been tested thoroughly and is functioning effectively. Reports of discrepancies in evaluation were termed as 'baseless rumors' by the board.
Impact on Students
Students and parents had expressed concerns following media reports claiming evaluation delays and technical snags. However, CBSE's clarification aims to alleviate these fears. The board reiterated that the evaluation process is on track and results will be announced as per schedule. The OSM model is expected to benefit students by ensuring fair and timely assessment.
CBSE has also established a dedicated helpline to address any queries related to the evaluation process. Schools and students are advised to rely only on official communications from the board.
