The board exam result season for 2026 is nearing completion, with a majority of Indian education boards having already declared their results, particularly for Class 12 examinations. Data across states shows that most higher secondary results were released between March and April, following a well-established academic timeline.
State Boards: Most Results Declared
States such as Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Assam, Karnataka, and Chhattisgarh have already announced both Class 10 and Class 12 results, marking early completion of their evaluation cycles. In several other states, including Jharkhand and Meghalaya, results have been partially released, with either Class 10 or Class 12 already declared while the other remains pending.
CISCE Results: ICSE and ISC Declared
At the national level, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations has completed its result cycle. Both ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) results have been declared, with pass percentages remaining above 99 per cent. The data reflects consistent performance, with girls continuing to outperform boys across both levels.
ICSE ISC Result: Pass Percentage Above 99%
The ISC exam recorded an overall pass percentage of 99.13%, while ICSE stood at 99.18%. The results indicate consistently high performance across both levels.
Girls Outperform Boys in Both Exams
Girls have marginally outperformed boys in both exams. In ISC, girls scored 99.48% compared to boys at 98.81%. In ICSE, girls achieved 99.46% while boys recorded 98.93%.
Recheck Window Opens from May 1
Students can apply for recheck from May 1 to May 4, 2026. Re-evaluation and improvement exams will follow in June and July.
CBSE Class 12 Result: Expected in May
The Central Board of Secondary Education, however, is yet to announce its Class 12 results. While Class 10 results have already been declared, the board has clarified that Class 12 results are on schedule and expected in May. Officials have also dismissed reports of delays linked to the On-Screen Marking system, stating that the digital evaluation process is functioning smoothly.

According to officials, CBSE Class 12 results are likely to be declared in the third week of May, in line with the board's planned timeline.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has dismissed claims of delays in Class 12 answer sheet evaluation. The board stated that the process is functioning smoothly and remains on schedule.
Pending Results from Major States
Despite the overall progress, a few major boards are yet to declare results for both classes. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Odisha, and West Bengal remain in the pending category and are expected to release results in May. Kerala has also maintained its usual schedule, with results likely in the coming weeks.
As the final set of results approaches, attention is now focused on pending announcements, particularly CBSE Class 12. For lakhs of students across the country, the coming weeks will mark the conclusion of the board exam cycle and the beginning of the next academic phase.
