Dec 6: Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai Express Diverted, Skips 28 Stations
Train 16332 diverted on Dec 6, skips 28 stations

Passengers planning to travel on the popular weekly express from Kerala to Maharashtra need to take note of a significant route change. The Thiruvananthapuram–Mumbai CSMT Weekly Express (Train No. 16332) will face a major diversion on its journey scheduled for Friday, December 6.

Reason for the Route Change

The diversion is a direct result of planned engineering work being carried out by the Central Railway. Such maintenance blocks are essential for ensuring track safety and infrastructure upgrades, but they necessitate temporary alterations to train paths to facilitate the work.

New Diverted Route and Alternative Stops

Instead of its usual path, the train will be rerouted between Thrissur and Thane. The revised itinerary will take the scenic coastal route via Shoranur, Mangalore Junction, Madgaon, Ratnagiri, Roha, and Panvel.

As a consequence of this diversion, the express service will bypass a long list of 28 regular stations. Commuters who typically board or alight at these points will need to make alternative arrangements.

List of Skipped Stations

The train will not halt at the following stations on December 6:

  • Ottappalam, Palakkad, Podanur, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode
  • Salem, Tirupattur, Bangarapet, Krishnarajapuram
  • Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralayam Road
  • Raichur, Yadgiri, Wadi, Shahabad, Kalaburagi, Solapur, Kurduvadi
  • Daund, Pune, Lonavala, and Kalyan

Railway authorities have confirmed that appropriate stoppages will be provided at the alternative stations on the diverted coastal route to accommodate passengers. Travelers are strongly advised to double-check their journey details and the revised schedule closer to the date of travel to avoid any last-minute confusion or inconvenience.

This diversion highlights the ongoing infrastructure efforts by Indian Railways, which, while causing temporary schedule changes, are aimed at long-term network reliability and safety.
