India's Smartphone Exports Jump 43.7% to $18.8 Billion

India's smartphone exports have shown remarkable growth this fiscal year. According to the latest commerce ministry data released on Thursday, shipments surged by 43.7 per cent during the April-November period.

Export Figures Show Strong Performance

The total value reached USD 18.8 billion in these eight months. This represents a significant jump from USD 13.08 billion recorded during the same period in 2024-25. Looking back further, exports stood at just USD 9.07 billion in April-November 2023-24.

United States Leads as Top Destination

The data clearly indicates that the United States remains the primary market for Indian smartphones. American consumers continue to drive demand for these devices manufactured in India.

Following the US, several other countries show strong import numbers. The United Arab Emirates ranks second in receiving Indian smartphone shipments. China, Portugal, and Spain complete the list of top five destinations.

Expansion into New Markets

Indian smartphone manufacturers are not resting on their laurels. They are actively penetrating fresh markets across the globe. The commerce ministry report highlights several emerging destinations.

European nations like Slovakia and Latvia now import Indian smartphones. In the Middle East, Israel has become a notable market. Asian countries including Vietnam and South Korea are also welcoming these devices.

This geographical diversification suggests a strategic push by Indian exporters. They appear determined to reduce dependency on any single market while exploring new opportunities worldwide.

The consistent growth trajectory over recent years points to strengthening manufacturing capabilities. India's position in the global electronics supply chain seems to be improving steadily.
