Last year marked a significant milestone in India's electric vehicle landscape as Vietnamese automotive manufacturer VinFast made its official entry into the market. Unlike many foreign automakers who cautiously test Indian waters, VinFast has demonstrated a bold, strategic approach from the outset. The company launched two new electric SUVs—the VF 6 and VF 7—with a clear declaration that India represents a serious long-term commitment rather than an experimental market.

Safety provisions include seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and a 360-degree camera system.
The larger VF 7 expands upon this foundation with two battery options: a 59.6 kWh pack and a more substantial 70.8 kWh variant. The VF 7's more powerful configurations deliver up to 350 horsepower and 500 Newton-meters with all-wheel drive, while offering range extending to approximately 532 kilometers with the larger battery. Similar to the VF 6, the VF 7 presents a premium cabin environment featuring a large touchscreen, head-up display, vegan leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, and panoramic glass roof. Its safety suite also incorporates Level 2 ADAS, multiple airbags, and 360-degree cameras.

Once operational, the facility is projected to commence with an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles, scalable to 150,000 units over time. Alongside manufacturing, VinFast is developing a complete EV ecosystem in India, including partnerships for charging infrastructure and financing solutions aimed at making EV ownership more accessible and convenient.
