Schneider Electric and Tata Power Forge Strategic Alliance to Modernize Western Odisha's Power Infrastructure

In a significant move aimed at revolutionizing energy distribution, Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy technology, has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL). This collaboration is set to accelerate the digital transformation of the power grid across Western Odisha, enhancing reliability and sustainability for the region's electricity network.

Digitization of Substations Yields Tangible Benefits

As part of this ambitious initiative, Schneider Electric has successfully digitized 75 substations utilizing its advanced EcoStruxure™ Grid architecture. This implementation provides end-to-end visibility and intelligent control over the distribution network, leading to a remarkable 30 percent reduction in power interruption time. The partnership has already delivered measurable improvements, with plans to achieve up to 70 percent enhancement through ongoing digital optimization efforts.

Serving a vast customer base of over 21 lakh across nine districts, TPWODL plays a pivotal role in ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted electricity supply. Consumers in Western Odisha are now experiencing fewer outages, faster restoration times, and more stable voltage levels, benefiting both residential and commercial users.
