Samruddhi Expressway Achieves Record Toll Revenue in 2025-26
The Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway has demonstrated remarkable growth in traffic and revenue during the 2025-26 financial year. According to official data from the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, the 701-kilometer access-controlled corridor witnessed a staggering 1.55 crore vehicles utilizing the route, generating an impressive toll revenue of Rs 1,240.04 crore.
Sharp Increase in Toll Collection
This latest figure represents a substantial rise compared to the previous fiscal year. The toll collection for 2025-26 was Rs 499.41 crore higher than the Rs 740 crore collected in 2024-25. Officials highlighted that this marks the first time the expressway's annual toll collection has crossed the significant Rs 1,000-crore milestone in a single financial year.
Progressive Growth Since Inauguration
The expressway's journey since its partial opening reveals a consistent upward trajectory:
- 2022-23: During its initial four-month operational period, approximately 13.59 lakh vehicles used the expressway, generating Rs 106.41 crore in toll revenue.
- 2023-24: Vehicle numbers surged to 68.99 lakh, with toll collections reaching Rs 528.10 crore.
- 2024-25: The expressway crossed the one-crore vehicle mark, recording toll collections of Rs 740 crore.
Cumulative Usage and Revenue
Since becoming operational, the Samruddhi Expressway has facilitated substantial transportation across Maharashtra. The document stated, "So far, 3.44 crore vehicles have used the Samruddhi Expressway and paid toll amounting to Rs 2,660 crore." This cumulative data underscores the expressway's growing importance as a critical infrastructure asset for the state.
