Kalaburagi: The Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB), in collaboration with the Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC), has initiated a significant project to enhance industrial growth in the Kalaburagi and Yadgir districts of the Kalyana Karnataka region.
Project Overview
Addressing the media on Saturday, KKRDB chairman Dr. Ajay Singh announced that new industrial estates covering a total of 210.5 acres will be developed across the two districts at an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore. The funding will be equally shared between KKRDB and KSSIDC, with each contributing 50 percent of the grant.
Kalaburagi Estate
In Kalaburagi district, a new industrial estate will be established on 62.5 acres near Nandur-K, with a project cost of Rs 61.2 crore. This development aims to provide modern infrastructure for small and medium enterprises in the region.
Yadgir Estates
In Yadgir taluk, an industrial estate is being developed over 100 acres at a cost of Rs 96.2 crore. Additionally, another estate is coming up in Shahapur taluk, where Rs 42.5 crore will be spent to develop 48 acres near Halisagar village. These projects are expected to create employment opportunities and attract investments to the backward region.
Funding and Allotment
Dr. Singh stated that KKRDB will bear Rs 100 crore of the total development cost, while KSSIDC will contribute the remaining Rs 100 crore. The grants have been allocated for development works during the fiscal year 2025–26. He further emphasized that the allotment of industrial plots, land, and grants will be carried out separately for general category, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes, adhering strictly to government norms. Transparency guidelines will be rigorously followed during the plot allotment process, he assured.
