Northern Coalfields Limited Commits Rs 13.29 Crore to Develop Singrauli Sports Academy

In a significant move to enhance sports infrastructure in the region, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a subsidiary of Coal India headquartered in Singrauli, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the district administration. This partnership, executed through NCL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, aims to establish a state-of-the-art sports academy designed to nurture local athletic talent and promote physical fitness among the youth.

Substantial Financial Commitment and Project Details

Under the terms of the MoU, NCL has pledged a substantial investment of Rs 13.29 crore over a two-year period. This funding will cover the comprehensive development, operation, and maintenance of the modern sports complex. The academy is set to feature world-class indoor and outdoor facilities, creating a holistic environment for sports training and development.

The planned infrastructure includes:

Formal Agreement and Key Signatories

The MoU was formally signed on Wednesday by key representatives from both parties. NCL's General Manager (CSR), Rajeev Ranjan, and Executive Engineer from Madhya Pradesh Housing and Infrastructure Development, Sher Singh Kalesh, executed the agreement. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of District Collector Gaurav Benal and NCL CEO Jagdish Gome, underscoring the collaborative nature of this public-private partnership.
