Major Fire Erupts at Namakkal Godown, Causing Rs 1 Crore Loss
A significant fire incident occurred at a storage godown located near Pallipalayam in Namakkal district on Saturday, resulting in the destruction of plastic raw materials valued at around Rs 1 crore. The godown, owned by Sakhubar Ali of Periyar Nagar, was used to store essential materials required for manufacturing plastic products.

The fire broke out while employees were actively working at the site. According to Sakhubar Ali, old plastic products stored at the rear section of the godown suddenly caught fire. "The fire gradually spread to the other parts of the godown," Ali stated, highlighting the rapid escalation of the blaze.
Workers immediately alerted the fire and rescue services department upon noticing the flames. In response, fire and rescue personnel from Kumarapalayam swiftly arrived at the location with three fire tenders. After concerted efforts, they successfully extinguished the fire, preventing further damage to the surrounding area.

The destroyed raw materials were intended for shipment to plastic manufacturing units in major cities such as Delhi and Bengaluru. This loss is expected to disrupt supply chains and affect production schedules for these units.
