MG Motor India Set to Unveil Majestor SUV on April 20, 2026

MG Motor India is poised to launch the highly anticipated MG Majestor SUV next week, with the official debut scheduled for April 20, 2026. This new model, which was first showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, represents a significant evolution from the Gloster, positioning itself as a more premium and capable offering in the full-size SUV segment.

Enhanced Design and Premium Features

The MG Majestor retains the same platform as the Gloster but introduces a host of updates to distinguish it as a superior model. Design revisions include a large Matrix-style grille, Falcon-inspired daytime running lights, and modern split headlamps at the front. The side profile is accentuated by 19-inch alloy wheels, while the rear features new connected LED tail-lights and sculpted tailgate badging with 'Morris Garages' and 'Majestor'. Additional design highlights encompass faux twin exhaust tips, a skid plate, an integrated spoiler, and a rear wiper with washer. Colour options include monotone shades such as Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Grey, and Metal Ash.

Interior Comfort and Advanced Technology

Inside, the Majestor offers both six- and seven-seat layout options, with the six-seater featuring individual captain seats in the second row. The dashboard has been completely redesigned with piano-black trim and silver accents for a modern aesthetic. Key features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, MG's i-Smart 2.0 connected-car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions, three-zone automatic climate control, dual wireless charging pads, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a gesture-operated powered tailgate.

Safety and Off-Road Capabilities

Safety is a priority, with the Majestor equipped with Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning with prevention, and blind-spot monitoring. Standard safety features include electronic stability control, hill-hold and hill-descent control, ISOFIX mounts, a surround-view camera system, and six airbags. Under the hood, it is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215 hp, paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV boasts a 4x4 system with MG's M-Hub all-terrain management software, offering up to 10 selectable terrain and drive modes, a crawl mode called M-Crawl, three differential locks, and a maximum water-wading capacity of 810 mm.

Booking Details and Market Positioning

Pre-bookings for the Majestor have already commenced, with interested customers able to reserve the SUV online or at MG dealerships by paying Rs 41,000. Showroom previews and test drives will begin shortly, with deliveries scheduled to start in May 2026. The first 3,000 customers to pre-book will receive a complimentary package including a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance, and a five-year labour-free service contract. The SUV will be available in three variants: Sharp 4x2, Savvy 4x2, and Savvy 4x4, with both six- and seven-seat configurations. Expected to be priced from around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom), the Majestor will compete directly with rivals like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, targeting buyers seeking a premium, off-road-capable SUV.
