Maharashtra Government Greenlights Major Industrial Push with Rs 2.56 Lakh Crore Investment
The Maharashtra state government has officially cleared a significant package of special incentives for 18 industrial projects classified under the mega and ultra-mega categories. This move is set to catalyze investments totaling a staggering Rs 2.56 lakh crore, with projections indicating the creation of approximately one lakh new jobs across the region.
Vidarbha Region Emerges as Key Investment Hub
Of the total investment, a substantial portion worth around Rs 80,000 crore has been earmarked for the Vidarbha region, highlighting its growing importance in the state's industrial landscape. The cabinet's approval formalizes incentive packages for seven projects in this area alone, which are expected to generate about 40,000 employment opportunities.

This includes rebates from state GST, which will be made available as the industries commence their operations in alignment with the projected timelines. The decision underscores the government's commitment to fostering industrial growth and employment generation through strategic support measures.
