Lucknow PNG Supply Woes: Low Pressure, Billing Irregularities Hit Homes

Lucknow Residents Grapple with Persistent PNG Supply Disruptions and Billing Irregularities

Multiple consumers of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in Lucknow are experiencing frequent disruptions in their cooking gas supply, including notably low pressure during peak hours, sudden cuts, and irregularities in billing. These issues are significantly affecting daily household routines and have sparked frustration among residents across various localities.

Residents Voice Concerns Over Inconsistent Supply and Poor Support

Complaints from residents highlight not only the supply problems but also delays in complaint resolution and sluggish technical support, compounding the inconvenience. Vikram Tiwari, a resident of Gomti Nagar, expressed his difficulties, stating, "The low gas pressure in the mornings makes it challenging to complete cooking on schedule. Despite lodging repeated complaints, the problem often persists without resolution. Additionally, my bills have been unusually high even though my consumption has not increased."

In Vrindavan Yojana, Priya Chaturvedi reported that sudden cuts in PNG supply disrupt her household's daily schedule, while customer care responses remain slow and ineffective. Meanwhile, Rohan Mishra from Vikas Nagar noted that inconsistent PNG supply impacts cooking and overall convenience, particularly when multiple burners are used simultaneously. He added that technical staff often take hours to respond, forcing households to rely on alternative arrangements for their cooking needs.

GGL Official Responds to Pressure Concerns

In response to these grievances, Rajkishor Behera, Director of Commercial at GGL, addressed the pressure issues. He stated, "As of now, we have not received any formal complaints regarding PNG pressure problems. However, we frequently receive feedback from new PNG users who perceive the gas flow pressure as lower compared to traditional LPG cylinders. This is a normal characteristic of PNG, as the stove burner operates at 21 millibar."

Behera emphasized that residents facing any issues should register their complaints through the official customer care phone number or the designated email address of GGL to ensure proper attention and resolution.

Impact on Daily Life and Call for Action

The ongoing disruptions in PNG supply are not merely inconveniences but are disrupting essential daily activities for many Lucknow households. The combination of low pressure during critical cooking times, unexpected supply cuts, and billing discrepancies has led to increased reliance on backup solutions and heightened consumer dissatisfaction.

Residents are urging for more efficient complaint handling and quicker technical support to mitigate these challenges and restore reliable PNG services across the city.
