Former President Ramnath Kovind Inaugurates MSME Conclave in Kanpur
Former President of India Ramnath Kovind arrived in Kanpur on Saturday to participate in a significant three-day micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) conclave and Regional Trade Show. The event is being hosted at the prestigious Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA) in the city.
Golden Jubilee Celebration and Official Welcome
The conclave was organized under the joint auspices of the agricultural university and the MSME department, marking the Golden Jubilee year of the institution. Upon his arrival, Kovind was warmly welcomed and felicitated by Uttar Pradesh Minister Rakesh Sachan. In a gesture of respect, the former President paid floral tributes at the statue of the renowned revolutionary and freedom fighter, Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad, after whom the university is named.
Extensive Exhibition Tour and Entrepreneurial Encouragement
Following the tribute, Kovind embarked on a detailed tour of the three-day exhibition set up across the university campus. He meticulously inspected various stalls showcasing a diverse range of sectors, including ODOP/ODOC (One District One Product/One District One Crop), Textile, Mukhyamantri Yuva Yojana, AgriTech, Manufacturing, and the Service Sector. During his visit, he gathered comprehensive information about the displayed innovations and products, actively engaging with entrepreneurs to understand their work and challenges.
Kovind expressed his appreciation for the startups, local industries, and innovations on display. He emphasized that such events are crucial in promoting entrepreneurship and inspiring the youth towards self-employment. "These conclaves play a vital role in fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and motivating young individuals to pursue self-reliance," he remarked, highlighting the importance of grassroots economic initiatives.
University Leadership and Dignitaries Present
Vice-Chancellor K. Vijayendra Pandian echoed these sentiments, stating that the regional trade show would provide new inspiration to the youth for industrial development. The event was attended by several notable figures, including MLA Surendra Maithani, Dean of Agriculture Faculty Kaushal Kumar, and Director of Extension VK Tripathi, along with other officials and dignitaries, underscoring the collaborative effort behind the conclave.
This gathering not only celebrated the university's milestone but also served as a platform to boost MSMEs, which are pivotal to India's economic growth and job creation.
