Indore District Administration Launches Digital Portal to Accelerate Industrial Approvals
The district administration of Indore has taken a significant step towards enhancing the ease of doing business in the region. On Saturday, officials announced the launch of a comprehensive single-window online portal alongside the strengthening of the existing investment promotion centre. This initiative aims to provide faster approvals and robust investor support throughout Indore district, marking a pivotal move to attract and facilitate industrial growth.
Streamlining Processes Through Digital Integration
The announcement was made during a crucial meeting of the Investment Promotion Coordination and Enhancement Committee, which convened at the collectorate under the leadership of Collector Shivam Verma. Verma elaborated on the portal's functionality, stating that it will be accessible through the Investment Promotion Centre. This digital platform is designed to consolidate all types of permissions, licences, and clearances required for establishing industries into one unified system.
The district industries centre will serve as the nodal agency for this portal, ensuring that all industrial applications are uploaded onto a single platform. This approach allows connected departments to directly access investor data, thereby reducing bureaucratic delays and simplifying the approval process for entrepreneurs.
Addressing Infrastructure Concerns Raised by Industrialists
During the meeting, local industrialists voiced several infrastructure-related demands that could impact future investments. Yogesh Mehta, President of the Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh, welcomed the online portal, noting that it will eliminate the need for entrepreneurs to visit multiple departments separately. However, he highlighted pressing issues such as groundwater pollution due to inadequate drainage lines in industrial areas and increasing encroachments under high-tension lines and in newly-developed zones.
Mehta emphasized that these problems could deter new investments if not addressed promptly. He also proposed a collaborative solution for improving connectivity, stating that if the route from Sector D to Sector C is properly demarcated, the association is prepared to construct a road to ease movement between these areas.
Power Supply Challenges and Land Allocation Issues
Another critical concern raised was related to power supply. Industrialist Harish Nagar pointed out that while approval for a new power grid in Palda has been granted, the project is stalled due to a lack of available land. This delay is exacerbating power problems for existing industries and hindering the attraction of new investments. Nagar urged for early land allotment to resolve this issue and support the region's industrial expansion.
The administration's dual focus on digital solutions and infrastructure upgrades reflects a holistic approach to fostering a business-friendly environment in Indore. By integrating technology with responsive governance, the district aims to boost economic development and address the practical challenges faced by the industrial community.
