The Indian two-wheeler market demonstrated remarkable strength in February 2026, with all major manufacturers reporting substantial year-on-year sales increases. This growth was primarily fueled by sustained high demand for commuter motorcycles and scooters across the country. Popular models such as the Hero Splendor, Honda Activa, Honda Shine, Bajaj Pulsar range, TVS Apache, and Royal Enfield Classic 350 continued to dominate sales in their respective segments, driving overall market volumes upward.
Hero MotoCorp Leads with 44% Growth
Hero MotoCorp reported exceptional performance with total dispatches reaching 5,58,216 units in February 2026. This represents a significant 44 per cent increase compared to the 3,88,068 units sold during the same month in the previous year. The company's domestic sales stood at 5,16,968 units, reflecting an impressive 44.68 per cent growth from 3,57,296 units a year earlier. According to company statements, this expansion was supported by strong performances across scooters as well as 100cc and 125cc motorcycles, with key contributors including the Splendor, HF Deluxe, and Destini models.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Posts Strong Numbers
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India also delivered robust results, recording total sales of 5,67,351 units in February 2026. This figure marks a 34 per cent increase compared to the same month last year. Domestic sales accounted for 5,13,190 units, while exports reached 54,161 units. The company's popular models, particularly the Honda Shine and Activa, continued to make substantial contributions to overall volumes, maintaining their positions as market leaders in their categories.
Bajaj Auto Reports Steady Expansion
Bajaj Auto experienced steady growth with domestic two-wheeler sales rising to 1,86,164 units, representing a 27 per cent increase from 1,46,138 units in February 2025. Exports also grew significantly by 26 per cent to 1,93,757 units, compared to 1,53,280 units a year earlier. The company's sales volumes are largely driven by the Bajaj Pulsar range, especially the 125cc, 160cc, and 200cc versions. Additionally, Bajaj Auto continues to sell the Chetak electric scooter in healthy volumes, contributing to its overall market presence.
TVS Motor Company Shows Notable Performance
TVS Motor Company registered notable growth with total two-wheeler sales increasing 28 per cent to 4,94,195 units, up from 3,87,671 units a year earlier. Domestic sales rose by 30 per cent to 3,83,262 units from 2,93,860 units. Motorcycle sales stood at 2,19,188 units, up 26 per cent, while scooter sales grew 30 per cent to 2,22,926 units. Exports increased by 18 per cent to 1,10,933 units. Furthermore, the company's electric two-wheeler business expanded significantly, with EV sales rising 50 per cent to 37,756 units from 25,195 units in the previous year.
Royal Enfield Maintains Steady Growth
Royal Enfield recorded total sales of 1,00,905 motorcycles in February 2026, representing an 11 per cent increase compared to 90,670 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales stood at 91,248 units, up 13 per cent, while exports were at 9,657 units, slightly lower than the 9,871 units reported a year ago. Models such as the Classic 350 and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 continue to account for a major share of the company's volumes, maintaining their popularity among consumers.
The consistent growth across all major manufacturers highlights the resilience and expanding demand within India's two-wheeler market, with commuter segments driving the majority of sales increases in February 2026.
