Hyundai Motor India Announces Price Hike for Select Venue Variants
Hyundai Motor India has implemented a price revision for specific variants of its popular compact SUV, the Venue. The adjustment is not uniform across the entire lineup but targets select trims, with diesel models bearing the brunt of the increase. The price hike ranges from a modest Rs. 5,200 to a significant Rs. 20,000, depending on the variant and engine configuration.
Diesel Variants Face Steepest Increases
The most substantial price rises are observed in the diesel variants, which see hikes of up to Rs. 20,000. This affects entry- and mid-level options, making diesel models notably more expensive. In contrast, petrol variants experience minimal changes, with some trims remaining unaffected. The revision is strategic, focusing on specific trims rather than a blanket increase across all models.
Detailed Breakdown of Variants and Engines
The Venue is offered in a diverse range of trims and engine options. Petrol variants include the HX2, HX4, HX5, HX6, HX6T, HX8, and HX10, while diesel variants are available as HX2, HX5, HX5 Plus, HX7, and HX10. The SUV features three engine choices:
- 1.5-litre Turbo Diesel: A 4-cylinder engine producing 116 hp and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
- 1.2-litre NA Petrol: A naturally aspirated engine delivering 88 hp and 114 Nm of torque, available with manual or automatic transmissions.
- 1.0-litre Turbo Petrol: A 3-cylinder engine generating 120 hp and 172 Nm of torque, offered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) gearbox.
The sportier Venue N-Line is exclusively powered by the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, with gearbox options including a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
Specific Price Adjustments Across Trims
Starting with the 1.2-litre petrol engine, the HX5 trim witnesses the largest hike of Rs. 20,000, marking the steepest increase in the entire Venue range. However, this hike is isolated; the entry-level HX2 and the HX6T variants maintain their existing prices. For the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol versions, the HX5 DCT and HX6 DCT variants have become Rs. 9,000 more expensive, while the top-spec HX8 DCT sees a smaller increase of Rs. 5,000. Notably, prices for the N Line models remain unchanged.
Among diesel variants, the HX2, HX5, HX5 AT, and HX7 trims have all risen by Rs. 8,000. The HX8 and HX10 diesel automatic variants continue at their current prices, unaffected by this revision.
Feature-Rich Offerings and Safety Equipment
Despite the price hike, the Venue continues to offer a host of advanced features. The top-spec variants boast dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, wireless charging, and a single-pane sunroof. On the safety front, the SUV is equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and Level 2 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
This targeted price adjustment by Hyundai Motor India reflects a strategic move to balance costs while maintaining the Venue's competitive positioning in the compact SUV segment. Potential buyers are advised to check with dealerships for the latest pricing on specific variants.
