A significant fire incident occurred at the Mascot Honda showroom located on Hingna-Wadi Road in Nagpur on Monday evening. The blaze erupted around 8 PM, rapidly engulfing a large portion of the showroom and resulting in the destruction of numerous two-wheelers. Preliminary estimates suggest losses amounting to lakhs of rupees. Fortunately, no staff members or visitors sustained injuries during the incident.
Details of the Incident
The fire is believed to have originated in the generator room while employees were still present inside the showroom. Within minutes, flames spread across the premises, and thick smoke billowed over the surrounding area. The intensity of the fire prompted immediate response from the MIDC Fire Brigade, who arrived at the scene swiftly. However, due to the severity of the situation, additional fire tenders were summoned from neighboring jurisdictions including Hingna Nagar Panchayat, Digdoh Nagar Parishad, Nildoh, and Trimurti Nagar.
Firefighting Efforts
Firefighters worked tirelessly for nearly three hours to bring the blaze under control. According to Ravindra Maraskolhe, a fire officer from the Trimurti Nagar fire station, the flames were finally subdued around 11 PM. The coordinated efforts of multiple fire brigades were crucial in preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent properties. Meanwhile, personnel from the MIDC police station arrived at the scene and have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
