Haryana Chief Minister Secures Major Investment Proposals in Key Sectors
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini conducted a significant high-level meeting with prominent domestic and international industrialists at Haryana Bhawan in Delhi on Wednesday. The gathering resulted in several substantial investment proposals across critical sectors such as electronics, consumer durables, defense, and emerging technologies.
Aligning Policy with Industry Expectations
The meeting was organized as part of consultations regarding the draft Haryana Industrial Policy 2026. Its primary objective was to align the policy framework with industry expectations and accelerate investment inflows into the state. Saini emphasized that the government is directly engaging with industry leaders to incorporate their concerns, requirements, and sector-specific suggestions into the upcoming policy.
"Haryana offers a business-friendly environment, and the upcoming policy has been designed after studying the best practices adopted by leading industrial states," stated Chief Minister Saini during the discussions.
Major Investment Announcements
Several significant investment proposals emerged from the meeting:
- Continental (Aumovio): Managing Director Prashant Doreswamy announced plans to establish an electronic brake manufacturing unit in Manesar, with a site identified in Dharuhera. The project involves an initial investment of approximately Rs 1,000 crore. Saini directed officials to expedite all necessary clearances for this initiative.
- Panasonic Life Solutions India: Managing Director Hirokazu Kamoda revealed plans for a substantial expansion of the company's Jhajjar manufacturing facility. Annual production capacity will be scaled up from 5 lakh to 20 lakh air conditioning units, requiring an additional investment of around Rs 200 crore. Saini encouraged the company to further expand operations and assured complete government support.
- Israel Aerospace Industries (Aerospace India): The defense sector received a major boost with interest expressed in investing Rs 3,000 crore, with Haryana among the shortlisted locations. India Chief of Staff Kanwar Vijay Singh indicated the investment would focus on advanced military systems, contributing significantly to both 'Make in India' and 'Make in Haryana' initiatives.
Infrastructure Development and Policy Initiatives
Saini informed industry representatives about the government's development of 10 new industrial model townships, as announced in the 2025 state budget. Land acquisition is currently underway for new IMTs in Ambala and Naraingarh, while a dedicated industrial zone specifically for Japanese companies is also being planned.
New incentives, including the proposed 'Sport Booster' initiative, are under active consideration. The Chief Minister also directed officials to revise export subsidy slabs, starting at 5%, to encourage more companies to enter global markets.
Addressing Infrastructure Concerns
Panasonic representatives raised concerns regarding better connectivity between Delhi International Airport and Jhajjar. In response, Saini confirmed that approvals have been granted for widening the Wazirpur-Jhajjar road to six lanes and upgrading the Chandu bypass, emphasizing that infrastructure development remains a top priority for the state government.
Strengthening Governance and Logistics
Commissioner and Secretary (Industries) Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal highlighted that Haryana is strengthening logistics networks, improving digital governance, and creating a transparent administrative framework to attract long-term investment. Saini urged industries to invest more in research, innovation, and new technologies to position Haryana as a leading industrial hub in the country.
