Aqeel Abbas, President of the Petroleum Dealers Association (PDA) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, highlighted that previously, payments could be made within a few days after ordering a tanker. "Many retailers are facing financial issues due to the changes in fuel supply rules," Abbas stated. "The problem is compounded by the rush at banks ahead of the end of the financial year, making it difficult to manage cash flow effectively."

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city is home to approximately 50 fuel outlets, some of which have been forced to reduce their purchases of petrol and diesel due to the advance payment requirements. "The closure or reduced operations of such outlets further fuel rumors of a fuel shortage, which in turn increases panic buying among consumers," Abbas explained.
