Force Motors Produces 200,000th Engine for Mercedes-Benz

Force Motors has reached a significant milestone in its partnership with Mercedes-Benz, announcing the production of its 200,000th engine at the manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. This achievement marks another chapter in a collaboration that has steadily expanded over nearly three decades in India.

Milestone Engine and Celebrations

The engine that marks this milestone is the six-cylinder M256 petrol unit, which has been installed in a Mercedes-Benz GLS 450. The occasion was celebrated with senior representatives from both organisations in attendance, including top leadership from Mercedes-Benz Group AG and Force Motors.

History of the Partnership

The relationship between the two companies in the powertrain manufacturing space began in 1997. Since then, the collaboration has grown substantially, with Force Motors not only producing engines but also axles for the complete range of Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles and SUVs assembled in India. Today, the Chakan plant serves as a key manufacturing hub, supplying components built to Mercedes-Benz’s global specifications while supporting the luxury carmaker’s operations in the country.
