A fire broke out at a plastic manufacturing factory in outer Delhi's Narela Industrial Area on Saturday afternoon, sending plumes of smoke into the sky and prompting a swift response from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS). According to DFS officials, a call regarding the blaze was received at around 12:20 pm, following which five fire tenders, along with nearly 30 firefighters, were dispatched to the spot.
Fire Spread Quickly Due to Stored Materials
Fire officials stated that the large quantities of stored materials and machinery at the factory contributed to the rapid spread of the flames. The fire quickly engulfed parts of the facility, requiring a coordinated effort to bring it under control. The firefighters worked diligently and managed to completely douse the fire by approximately 1:20 pm, officials confirmed.
No Injuries Reported, Investigation Underway
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and a probe has been initiated by the relevant authorities. The factory premises sustained significant damage due to the fire and the water used to extinguish it.
The Narela Industrial Area is a major hub for manufacturing units in Delhi, and such incidents highlight the importance of fire safety measures in industrial zones. Local residents and workers expressed concerns about the potential hazards posed by factories storing flammable materials.
