Delhi Factory Collapses After Fire, No Casualties

A portion of a factory building in the Mayapuri area of New Delhi collapsed following a fire that broke out at an industrial unit on Thursday. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received a call about the incident at approximately 11:17 am and promptly deployed around 18 fire tenders to combat the blaze.

Building Details and Fire Spread

The building consists of a basement, a ground floor, and two upper floors. According to a news agency report, as the fire intensified, additional fire tenders were summoned to the scene. The flames engulfed a steel-cutting and packing materials factory operating on the first and second floors of the building, which spans nearly 500 square yards.

Collapse During Firefighting

Fire officials reported that during the firefighting operation, sections of the first and second floors collapsed, leaving the structure in a precarious condition due to the damage caused by both the fire and the collapse. The blaze was brought under control around 2:20 pm.
