CISF Takes Charge: Strategic HPCL Rajasthan Refinery in Pachpadra Gets Security Boost
CISF inducted at HPCL's Pachpadra Refinery, becomes 363rd unit

In a significant move to bolster security at a critical national asset, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was formally inducted at the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd. (HRRL) in Pachpadra, Balotra district. The ceremony, held on Wednesday, marks a major strengthening of the security framework for this strategic refinery project.

Ceremony Marks Formal Handover of Security Responsibilities

The induction event saw the ceremonial handover of the CISF flag to HRRL Chief Executive Officer Kamlakar R. Vikhar by CISF Inspector General Navajyoti Gogoi. This act symbolized the formal assumption of security responsibilities by the specialized force. In a reciprocal gesture, the CEO handed over the project key to the CISF, entrusting them with its safety.

Further solidifying the command structure, Deputy Inspector General Sunil Kumar Sinha transferred the baton of command to Ved Prakash Mishra. Mishra will now head all security operations at the sprawling refinery complex. With this induction, the HRRL facility in Pachpadra officially became the 363rd unit under the CISF's protective umbrella.

Demonstrations and Inaugurations Highlight Event

The ceremony was attended by a host of senior officials from both CISF and HRRL. The event was not just procedural but also showcased the capabilities of the newly deployed force. CISF personnel conducted impressive demonstrations of Krav Maga, a renowned self-defence system, and reflex shooting, highlighting their combat readiness and quick response skills.

Dignitaries present also took the opportunity to inaugurate the new commandant office and the quarter guard at the site. A thorough inspection of the security facilities was conducted to ensure all arrangements meet the high standards required for protecting such a vital installation.

Strategic Importance and Upcoming Inauguration

The enhanced security comes at a crucial time for the refinery project. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the Pachpadra Refinery later this month, with preparatory arrangements currently in full swing. The CISF's induction is seen as a key step in finalizing the security infrastructure before the project's official launch.

The deployment of CISF, a central armed police force with expertise in industrial security, underscores the national importance of the HRRL refinery. It ensures a robust, professional security layer, safeguarding the asset against potential threats and enabling its smooth operation as a cornerstone of India's energy infrastructure in Rajasthan.
