MP CM Announces Nimar Investor Summit, Infrastructure Push

Indore: In a major investment push, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday announced that Madhya Pradesh will host an investor summit for the Nimar region, aiming to attract proposals for the Sukhpuri area of the Burhanpur industrial belt. The announcement was made during an interaction with industrialists, highlighting the state's commitment to economic development.

Infrastructure Enhancements for Ease of Business

To facilitate ease of business, a new access road will be constructed in the Rehta industrial area. This infrastructure project is expected to improve logistics and convenience for businesses operating in the region. The Chief Minister also detailed several infrastructure and policy initiatives aimed at transforming Burhanpur into a prominent industrial hub.

Land Identification and Policy Reforms

To promote local industry, Yadav stated that land has been identified for industrial use, and policies are being implemented to support new enterprises. These measures are designed to attract investment and foster a conducive environment for business growth.

MSME Sector Growth

Sharing big plans to boost the state's investor sentiment, the CM hailed the significant growth in Burhanpur's MSME sector. He noted that the business turnover of the district has risen from Rs 436 crore in 2022-23 to approximately Rs 802 crore, reflecting a near doubling of economic activity.

Financial Allocations and Tax Reforms

Yadav announced that the state has released the first installment of Rs 350 crore for the Nimbola industrial cluster. He also outlined several other changes for an industry-friendly policy, including the abolition of the tax on yellow lentils (Tuvar dal) and a proposed tax relief for the local cotton industry. These measures are intended to reduce the financial burden on businesses and stimulate growth.

District-Level Welfare Board and Farmer Focus

The Chief Minister said, “The State Merchant Welfare Board will be established at the district level to address local business grievances.” He added that with 2026 designated as the 'Year of Farmer Welfare,' special attention is being accorded to Burhanpur's banana growers, ensuring that agricultural communities benefit from the state's development initiatives.

These announcements underscore the state government's proactive approach to industrial development and its focus on creating a business-friendly environment in Madhya Pradesh.
