A delegation from the United States is scheduled to visit India from June 1 to June 4 for trade negotiations, according to a report by PTI citing a government official. Both sides are expected to continue discussions on a proposed interim agreement as well as the broader bilateral trade pact.
Focus on Interim Trade Pact
According to the official, India and the US are proposed to finalise details of the interim trade pact during the upcoming round of talks. Simultaneously, negotiations under the larger bilateral trade agreement framework will also be advanced.
Broader Trade Agreement Framework
The visit marks a crucial step in strengthening economic ties between the two nations. The discussions aim to address key trade issues and enhance cooperation, building on previous engagements. The interim pact is seen as a stepping stone towards a comprehensive trade deal.
