More than 700 employees and interns of Thynk Tech India OPC Pvt Ltd have been left without jobs after the company abruptly halted operations at its Pune office. The sudden closure has caused widespread distress among the workforce, many of whom had not received salaries or stipends for several months.
CEO Arrested on Multiple Charges
Following complaints lodged by affected staff, Pune police arrested Harshal Thakare, the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Training and Development of the company. Thakare faces charges including cheating and criminal breach of trust. Authorities are currently investigating the company's financial records and operations to ascertain the full extent of the alleged fraud.
Employees Allege Salary Withholding and Laptop Deposit Scam
Employees have come forward with serious allegations against the management. They claim that salaries and stipends were withheld for months without any valid explanation. In a particularly distressing turn, some employees were asked to deposit Rs. 15,000 for company laptops that were never provided. This has added to the financial burden on individuals who are already struggling due to unpaid wages.
The Forum for IT Employees (FITE) has stepped in to assist the affected workers. According to FITE representatives, several interns approached them for help after repeated assurances of salary payments from the company went unfulfilled. The organization is providing legal and emotional support to those impacted.
