Earlier this week, Oracle initiated layoffs across its global offices, with employees in the United States, India, and other regions receiving termination emails as early as 6 AM EST on Tuesday. These emails, sent from "Oracle Leadership," informed recipients that their roles were eliminated as part of broader organizational changes, with the notification day serving as their last working day. For affected US employees, Oracle is offering a severance package that includes four weeks of base salary for the first year of employment, plus one additional week for each subsequent year, capped at a maximum of 26 weeks. To qualify for a full year in this calculation, employees must have worked at least six months in their most recent year. The payout will be adjusted in states with a WARN notice period, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
