Odisha Clears Rs 3,793 Crore Industrial Projects, 20,000 Jobs

The Odisha state government on Saturday approved industrial investment proposals totaling Rs 3,793 crore for 24 projects spread across 14 districts, with an anticipated generation of nearly 20,000 jobs, officials announced.

Approval and Investment Details

The approvals were granted by the State-level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The cumulative investment of Rs 3,793.33 crore is projected to create 19,924 employment opportunities, underscoring the state's commitment to job-led industrial growth.

Sector-Wise Distribution

The proposals span a diverse range of sectors, including steel and metal downstream, renewable energy, advanced materials, electronics and EV components, textiles, tourism, logistics, food processing, and consumer products. The projects will be established across Khurda, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balangir, Puri, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, and Mayurbhanj districts.

Key Projects in Clean Energy and Advanced Manufacturing

In the clean energy sector, CESC Green Power will set up a battery energy storage system unit in Dhenkanal with an investment of Rs 683.83 crore, creating 153 jobs. AVP Star Pvt Ltd will establish a lab-grown diamond facility in Khurda with an investment of Rs 500 crore, generating 500 jobs. Nandraj Textiles will set up an apparel unit in Khurda with Rs 168.64 crore, creating over 10,300 jobs, the highest among the approved projects. Other notable proposals include a garments unit in Sambalpur with Rs 145.5 crore and an integrated textile park in Ganjam with Rs 170 crore.

Tourism and Hospitality Approvals

The tourism and hospitality sector received multiple approvals, including premium resorts and hotels in Koraput, Puri, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Mayurbhanj, with investments ranging from Rs 52 crore to Rs 250 crore. Swosti Premium will establish a five-star resort in Koraput with an investment of Rs 250 crore.

Metal and Manufacturing Segment

In metal and manufacturing, JSW Severfields Structures will set up a steel fabrication unit in Jajpur for Rs 215 crore, generating 1,400 jobs. Koshal Ceramics will expand its Jharsuguda plant with a Rs 275 crore investment.

Other Approvals

Other approved projects include a Coca-Cola expansion in Khurda for Rs 300 crore, generating 990 jobs, along with EV and battery manufacturing units, logistics parks, and food processing units.
