Mahindra & Mahindra, a leading Indian automotive manufacturer, has announced a 14% year-on-year growth in total vehicle sales for April, with 56,331 units sold compared to 49,420 units in the same month last year. The growth was primarily driven by a significant increase in SUV sales, which rose by 18% to 30,124 units from 25,529 units in April 2023.
SUV Sales Lead the Charge
The company's SUV segment witnessed robust demand across its model lineup, including popular models like the Scorpio, XUV700, and Thar. The strong performance in SUVs underscores the sustained consumer preference for utility vehicles in India.
Other Vehicle Categories
While SUVs were the standout performer, other vehicle categories also contributed to the overall growth. Commercial vehicle sales saw a modest uptick, while tractor sales remained stable. The company's total vehicle sales include passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and three-wheelers.
