ICSI Salem Chapter Conducts Professional Development Event
The Salem Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) successfully organised a comprehensive one-day professional programme on Tuesday in Salem. This significant event attracted approximately 100 participants, including members, students, and corporate representatives, fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.
Key Addresses and Guest Participation
M Harish, Chairman of the Salem Chapter, inaugurated the programme with a welcome address. He emphasised the chapter's dedicated efforts to enhance professional excellence and facilitate knowledge sharing among its diverse stakeholders. The event was graced by R Sridharan, Past President of ICSI, who served as the Chief Guest. Sridharan delivered an insightful speech on the evolving responsibilities of governance professionals in today's dynamic corporate landscape.
Adding to the programme's prestige, S. Jayanthi, Principal of Sakthi Kailash College for Women, attended as the Special Guest. She shared valuable perspectives with the attendees, enriching the discourse on professional development.
Milestone Releases and Celebrations
A highlight of the event was the release of the 25th edition of the Salem Chapter's e-newsletter. This milestone publication was officially launched by the Chief Guest, Special Guest, and Managing Committee Members, symbolising the chapter's ongoing commitment to communication and community engagement.
The programme also commemorated International Women's Day, with special recognition accorded to women members for their substantial contributions to the profession. In a gesture of academic encouragement, more than 25 students who successfully cleared recent examinations were felicitated for their outstanding achievements.
Technical Sessions and Expert Insights
The technical segment of the programme featured a series of informative presentations. R. Sridharan led a session on "Independent Directors and Corporate Governance," providing in-depth analysis and best practices. This was followed by a practical insights session conducted by A. Mohan Kumar, who offered real-world applications and case studies. The final technical session was delivered by B. Karthik, rounding off the educational component with additional expertise.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by B. Akilan, Secretary of the Salem Chapter, marking the end of a productive and inspiring day dedicated to professional growth and recognition.
