Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director K Krithivasan earned over Rs 28 crore in FY26, according to the company’s latest annual report. His pay also stood at 332.8 times the median employee remuneration at the IT services major.

Compensation Details

TCS, one of India’s largest IT services companies and part of the Tata Group, reported that his total remuneration included salary, benefits, and commission, with a 6.3 per cent year-on-year rise. The Nomination and Remuneration Committee determines managerial remuneration based on performance, company results, and market benchmarks.

Career Journey

Behind the salary figures is a long career built entirely within the company over more than three decades. Krithivasan studied Mechanical Engineering at Coimbatore Institute of Technology from 1981 to 1985 and later completed his MTech in Industrial and Management Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in 1987. He joined TCS in 1989 and spent over 30 years in the organisation, working across multiple roles before moving into senior leadership positions.

Key Roles

  • From 2007 to 2023, he served in multiple roles, including as President of the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) division of TCS, a key business vertical for the company. He held this position for over 16 years.
  • In June 2023, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of TCS, taking charge of the company’s global operations from Mumbai after a long internal career path.

TCS in its report also said that managerial remuneration is decided by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee based on performance, company results, and market benchmarks.
