Mumbai: The Meghwadi police have arrested a doctor for his alleged involvement in a case where forged medical documents were submitted to an insurance company to obtain a claim approval in 2025. Authorities indicated that more arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.

Following a complaint, the police conducted a medical examination of the purported patient and discovered that no surgery had actually been performed. However, the medical papers submitted to the insurance company for a claim falsely indicated that the patient had undergone surgery for varicose veins. Additionally, pharmacy bills were attached to support the fraudulent claim.
Accused Doctor's Background
Police reported that the accused doctor operates a hospital in Kharghar, which has since been shut down. The investigation is ongoing to identify other individuals who may have signed the medical papers and pharmacy bills submitted to the insurance company.
