Bank of India Opens 514 Credit Officer Posts: Apply from Dec 20
BOI Recruitment 2025: 514 Credit Officer Vacancies

In a significant move to bolster its credit and risk management teams, the Bank of India has officially announced a major recruitment drive for the financial year 2025–26. The public sector bank is inviting applications to fill 514 vacancies for the position of Credit Officer under its General Banking Officer (GBO) stream. This initiative is part of a broader trend of expansion and strengthening within the Indian banking sector.

Vacancy Details and Management Scales

The 514 available positions are distributed across three distinct management scales, catering to professionals at different stages of their banking careers. The distribution is designed to bring in talent with varying levels of experience and expertise.

The breakdown is as follows: 36 posts are in the Senior Management Grade Scale-IV (SMGS-IV), 60 posts are in the Middle Management Grade Scale-III (MMGS-III), and the majority, 418 posts, are in the Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II). All vacancies will adhere to the Government of India's reservation norms for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwBD categories.

Eligibility Criteria: Education, Age, and Experience

Aspiring candidates must carefully review the eligibility parameters set by Bank of India. The basic educational requirement is a graduation degree from a recognized university. However, the bank has shown a strong preference for candidates holding professional qualifications like CA, CFA, ICWA, or an MBA/PGDBM in Banking or Finance, especially for the higher scales.

The age limits, calculated as of November 1, 2025, are scale-specific. For MMGS-II, candidates must be between 25 and 35 years. The MMGS-III scale requires an age range of 28 to 38 years, while for SMGS-IV, the age bracket is 30 to 40 years. Standard age relaxations for reserved categories as per government rules will apply.

Experience is a critical component of this recruitment. For MMGS-II, applicants need a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification officer experience, with at least 2 years specifically in MSME, Corporate, or Commercial credit. The requirements for MMGS-III and SMGS-IV are more stringent, demanding progressive experience of approximately five to eight years in credit and related banking functions, commensurate with managerial responsibilities.

Application Process and Selection Stages

The online application window is a crucial period for all interested professionals. It is scheduled to open on December 20, 2025, and will remain active until January 5, 2026. Applications will be accepted exclusively through the official Bank of India website at bankofindia.bank.in.

The step-by-step application process involves visiting the 'Careers' section, locating the relevant notification for Credit Officers in GBO Stream (2025–26), and completing the online registration. Candidates must fill in their details accurately, upload scanned documents (photograph, signature), and pay the applicable online fee before final submission.

The selection of candidates will be a multi-stage process. After the initial shortlisting of eligible applications, candidates will likely face an online examination and/or an interview. The exam is expected to assess professional knowledge, reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, and domain expertise in credit evaluation and risk management. The final exam pattern and syllabus will be detailed in the official information brochure.

This recruitment drive by Bank of India underscores the institution's focus on enhancing its core credit operations and risk management frameworks. It presents a valuable opportunity for experienced banking professionals to advance their careers within a leading public sector bank during a phase of active hiring across the industry.
