Ahmedabad Visa Fraud: Firm Dupes Man of Rs 4.5 Lakh for Overseas Job
Ahmedabad Visa Fraud: Man Duped of Rs 4.5 Lakh

Ahmedabad: In a fresh case of visa fraud, Navrangpura police have registered a second complaint against three office-bearers of DAA Business Consultant Services Pvt Ltd for allegedly duping a city resident of Rs 4.5 lakh. The complainant, a 39-year-old unemployed man from Nikol, alleged that the consultancy collected money for securing a work permit visa for his brother but failed to deliver.

How the Fraud Unfolded

According to the FIR, the complainant was introduced to the consultancy through a friend in December 2024. He visited their office near Stadium Circle on CG Road, where representatives promised a Luxembourg work visa for his brother within six months. Initially, he paid Rs 1 lakh as a token amount via bank transfer.

Later, the consultancy suggested switching the application to Finland, claiming a Finnish work permit could be obtained in 60 days for Rs 7.5 lakh. The complainant’s brother underwent police clearance and medical tests as instructed. After being shown an offer letter, the complainant paid another Rs 1 lakh in cash. In August 2025, the consultants shared images of a temporary residence card and demanded Rs 3 lakh for flight bookings and visa processing. Trusting them, the complainant transferred the amount, totaling Rs 5 lakh.

Broken Promises and Partial Refund

Neither the visa nor travel arrangements materialized. After repeated follow-ups and threats of police action, the consultancy refunded Rs 50,000 and signed an agreement in March 2026 promising to repay the remaining amount within a month. However, the balance of Rs 4.5 lakh was not returned.

Navrangpura police have registered a case of cheating and breach of trust. Investigation is underway. This is the second complaint against the same firm, which was previously under scrutiny in a work permit fraud case.
