A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred on Sunday evening near Kadsar village on the Ara-Mohania main road (NH-319) under the Sonvarsha police station area in Buxar district, claiming the life of a 50-year-old farmer. The deceased has been identified as Dhirendra Ravani, a resident of Kadsar village.

Details of the Incident

According to villagers, Ravani was on his way to a local mill when the accident took place. While crossing the road, he was struck by an unidentified vehicle that was reportedly moving at high speed. The impact was so severe that he died on the spot.

Villagers Block Highway

Following the incident, angry villagers and family members of the deceased blocked NH-319, leading to severe traffic snarls on the highway for several hours. The blockade caused inconvenience to commuters traveling on this busy route.

Sonvarsha Station House Officer (SHO) Santosh Kumar confirmed that a police team was dispatched to the location immediately after the incident was reported. He stated that further investigation is underway to identify the vehicle and the driver responsible for the accident.

Authorities are urging witnesses to come forward with any information that could help in the investigation. The family of the deceased has been informed, and legal proceedings are being initiated.
