Indore: A couple allegedly died by suicide in the Tal police station area of Ratlam district on Monday. The incident came to light when the couple, 31-year-old Sanjay Prajapati and his wife, 30-year-old Manju, failed to wake up in the morning.
Sequence of Events
Sanjay’s father, who was sleeping in an adjacent room, opened their door and found both of them unconscious. The family immediately rushed them to the Primary Health Center in Tal, where doctors declared Manju dead on arrival. Given Sanjay’s critical condition, he was referred to Ratlam Medical College. However, he succumbed during treatment shortly after arrival.
Family Background
Sanjay’s elder brother, Mukesh Prajapati, stated that the entire family had attended an acquaintance’s retirement function on Sunday night and returned home around 9 pm before going to sleep. Sanjay worked as a mason and had brought his wife and two children—an 8-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter—back to Tal on June 5 from her maternal home in Harda district after their summer vacations.
Police Investigation
Tal police station in-charge Swaraj Dabi said that no suicide note was recovered from the spot. “The police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation. The woman’s postmortem will be conducted following the arrival of her parents from Harda,” he said.
The police are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident and have not ruled out any possibilities. Further details are awaited.
