A disturbing incident has come to light from Gorakhpur, where a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 20-year-old boyfriend in a field late Saturday night. The accused, who was in a relationship with the minor, committed the assault and later sent her video clips of the act. He threatened to make the clips go viral if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
Victim's family lodges complaint
Frightened and distressed, the girl gathered courage and informed her family about the assault and the threats. Her family immediately approached the Sahjanwa police station and lodged a formal complaint against the boyfriend and his two friends, who were allegedly involved in the crime.
Police action
Acting swiftly on the complaint, the Sahjanwa police recorded the statement of the minor victim and sent her for a medical examination to gather evidence. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Circle Officer (CO) of GIDA, Yogendra Singh, confirmed that the police have launched a search operation to apprehend the three accused. The main accused, the boyfriend, is currently on the run along with his two friends. Police teams are conducting raids at possible hideouts and have assured that the accused will be arrested soon.
The incident has sparked outrage in the local community, with demands for strict action against the perpetrators. Authorities have assured that the victim will be provided with necessary support and counseling.
