Ahmedabad Goes Green: World Environment Day Celebrations
Ahmedabad Goes Green on World Environment Day

Ahmedabad witnessed a vibrant celebration of World Environment Day as residents enthusiastically participated in a range of eco-friendly activities, from plantation drives to nature trails and educational workshops. The day was marked by a collective commitment to climate change mitigation and environmental conservation.

Activities at Centre for Environment Education

At the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), children engaged in nature trails across the campus, birdwatching sessions, and photography contests. A climate action pledge wall invited visitors to commit to sustainable practices, while a treasure hunt kept students actively involved. Additionally, a theatre workshop focusing on environmental themes was conducted to foster creative expression and awareness.

Medical Community Joins Plantation Drive

Dr. Jignesh Shah, president of the Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA), highlighted the participation of AMA members alongside the Ahmedabad Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (AOGS) in a tree plantation initiative. “We distributed saplings to all members so they can plant them at their homes or near their offices, contributing to a greener city,” he stated.
