UPEIDA CEO Reviews Lucknow Defence Corridor Progress

Shashank Chaudhary, the additional chief executive officer of the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), conducted a visit to the Lucknow node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor on Tuesday. The primary objective of the visit was to review the progress of ongoing infrastructure development and assess the implementation of various projects within the corridor.

Infrastructure Review and Assessment

During his inspection, Chaudhary evaluated the status of key infrastructure components, including road construction, drainage system development, and the construction of boundary walls. Officials, engineers, and representatives from executing agencies were instructed to ensure that adequate manpower and resources are allocated to complete all works within the stipulated timeline.

Meeting with BrahMos Manufacturing Unit

A joint meeting was also convened with officials from the BrahMos manufacturing unit. During the discussions, company representatives raised concerns related to infrastructure, particularly the potential for waterlogging during the monsoon season. They highlighted that inadequate drainage could adversely affect industrial operations.

In response, Chaudhary directed officials and executing agencies to strengthen the drainage network, expedite the construction of drainage channels, and closely monitor areas vulnerable to waterlogging. He instructed that all necessary corrective measures and pending works be completed on a priority basis before the onset of the monsoon.

Coordinated Action Plan

The review also covered other infrastructure facilities being developed within the project area. Officials were asked to prepare and implement a coordinated action plan aligned with the requirements of industrial units. Emphasis was placed on improving coordination among departments and agencies to address issues that could impact project execution.
