On the occasion of World Environment Day, which was observed on Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign in Lucknow. The event also saw the honoring of students who excelled in logo design and painting competitions, as well as gram pradhans who facilitated the notification of wetlands in their respective areas.
Logo Design Competition Winners
The logo design competition witnessed participation from across the state. Mahi Raza, a Class VII student from Lalitpur, secured the first position. The Chief Minister handed her a cheque for ₹50,000. Sumbul Fatima, a Class V student from Kannauj, received ₹25,000 as the second prize. She expressed her happiness on receiving the honour from the Chief Minister and thanked him. Shraddha Tripathi, a Class X student from Mirzapur, won the third prize in the same competition. She said she felt wonderful meeting the CM and interacting with him.
Painting Competition Winners
In the painting competition, Ajay Kumar Dubey won the first prize of ₹25,000. Srishti Shukla secured the second prize of ₹15,000, and Sudhakar won the third prize of ₹10,000.
Recognition for Gram Pradhans
Rajkishore Verma, a gram pradhan from Barabanki district, expressed his happiness at attending the event and being recognized for his efforts in wetland notification.
The 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign aims to encourage tree planting as a tribute to mothers, aligning with the spirit of World Environment Day. The event highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and community participation.
