Residents of the Krishnarayapuram assembly constituency in Karur district will soon be able to register their grievances with their MLA by simply scanning a QR code. TVK MLA M Sathya announced that QR codes will be displayed at key locations such as the panchayat office across the constituency to make grievance redressal more accessible to the public.
How the QR Code System Works
“People can scan the QR codes and submit their complaints. The information will be automatically forwarded to my official email. We will visit the concerned locations and take steps to resolve the issues,” Sathya told TOI. The lone TVK MLA from the district emphasized that this digital initiative aims to streamline the complaint process and ensure timely responses.
Complaint Boxes for Remote Areas
In addition to the QR code system, Sathya said complaint boxes will be set up in remote locations within the constituency. “Largely people today have smart phones and it helps to resolve the grievances quickly. However, I understand that my constituency has many remote villages, so complaint boxes will also be set up,” she added. This dual approach ensures that even residents without smartphone access can voice their concerns.
Existing and New MLA Offices
Residents can also visit the existing MLA office at Kakkavadi to air their grievances in person. The government is taking steps to establish a new MLA office at Lingathur near Uppidamangalam and another office at Taragampatti to improve access for residents, Sathya said. These offices will further enhance the reach of grievance redressal services across the constituency.
This initiative reflects a broader push towards leveraging technology for better governance and citizen engagement. By combining digital tools with traditional methods, the MLA aims to ensure that every resident's voice is heard and addressed promptly.
