The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh continued its persistent campaign against encroachments and unauthorized occupation of public spaces. On Wednesday, a special anti-encroachment drive was carried out in Sector 13, Manimajra, focusing particularly on the parking area near Fun Republic.
Impounded Vehicles and Seized Items
During the drive, enforcement teams impounded 13 vehicles that were illegally parked, encroaching upon public space. Additionally, tool boxes and other materials belonging to mechanics who had unlawfully occupied public areas for commercial activities were seized.
Removal of Encroachments
The team removed various encroachments that were obstructing public movement. The Fun Republic parking area was cleared of unauthorized occupation to ensure smooth flow of traffic and pedestrian access.
To enforce strict compliance with civic regulations, a total of 16 challans were issued to encroachers. This action underscores the MC's commitment to maintaining public spaces free from illegal occupation.
