Samsung is reportedly planning to launch two variants of the Galaxy Fold8 and a Galaxy Flip8 in mid-2025, bringing new designs and features to its foldable lineup. According to recent leaks, the company is expected to introduce a standard Galaxy Z Fold8 and a wider Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which will differ in display size and design. The clamshell Galaxy Z Flip8, however, will retain its existing design without major modifications.
Hardware and Chipset Upgrades
Both Galaxy Fold8 models are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, offering top-tier performance. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip8 may feature a 2nm Exynos chipset, marking a shift in Samsung's chip strategy for its foldable devices.
Battery and Camera Enhancements
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is rumored to include a 5,000mAh battery, while the standard Fold8 could come with a 4,800mAh cell. Camera improvements are also anticipated, with the standard Fold8 potentially featuring a triple camera module.
Software and Launch Timeline
All three devices will run Android 17-based One UI 9 out of the box. They are expected to debut in July or early August 2025, continuing Samsung's tradition of mid-year launches for its foldable lineup.
