Panaji: Commuters in Goa will soon be able to book KTC bus tickets using QR codes, recharge and check their KTC Smart Transit card balance in real time, and track buses both before purchasing a ticket and after booking to know exact arrival times. This digital transformation is set to revolutionize public transport across the state.
Long-Term Agreement Signed
MajheApp has signed a long-term agreement with the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) to bring this digital ecosystem to commuters from Pernem to Canacona. The initiative aims to eliminate cash transactions and queues, making travel more convenient and efficient for both locals and tourists.
App Features and Launch Date
The app, built by GraceFulGoa and operated by KTCL, will go live in the third week of June 2026. It will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. In addition to bus services, the app has also roped in motorcycle pilots for last-mile connectivity.
Every registered pilot onboarded onto MajheApp will receive automatic bookings wherever they are, removing the need to wait at designated stands. Both locals and tourists can book a pilot with a simple tap of a button.
User Convenience at the Core
Samuel Timothy, co-founder of MajheApp, emphasized the app's user-centric approach: “Recharging a bus card should not need a depot visit. A pilot should not need to wait for hours. And you should not need 50 apps on your phone. MajheApp puts everything in one place.”
With these features, Goa is poised to become a model for digital public transport in India, offering seamless integration of ticketing, tracking, and transit card management.
